 NEWS FROM THE COLORADO STATE PATROL

DATE: 6-19-09
TIME:   11: 10 P.M.
LOCATION:  On Marksheffel Rd. just North of Constitution Avenue. ( El Paso County)

On 6-19-09 at approximately 3:18 P.M. Troopers responded to Marksheffel 
Rd. just North of Constitution Ave.

A black 1999 Acura coupe was traveling northbound on Marksheffel Rd. just 
north of Constitution Ave. A white/ blue 2000 Kenworth self contained 
cement truck was traveling southbound on Marksheffel Rd. The Acura drifted 
onto the southbound lane and struck the Kenworth in a head-on manner. The 
Acura, after impact was pushed in a backwards manner and came to its final 
rest on all wheels blocking the southbound lane of Marksheffel Rd. The 
Kenworth, after impact was disabled and skidded to its final rest, also 
blocking the southbound lane of Marksheffel Rd.

A restrained driver of the Acura has been identified as a 26 year old 
female from Colorado Springs, CO. The drivers name is being withheld at 
this time pending next of kin notification.
The restrained male driver of the Kenworth has been identified as Roderick 
C. Fincher, 44 also from Colorado Springs, CO. Fincher sustained minor 
injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital of Colorado Springs, CO. 
Fincher was treated and later released.

Alcohol, drugs, and speed do not appear to be contributing factors.

Next of kin have not been notified.

More information will be released as it becomes available.
